Last updated: April 14, 2026. This policy describes how Asteroid (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use our websites, apps, and related services that link to this page.
On the Apple App Store, age ratings are determined by Apple and may differ by country or region—you will only see the rating that applies where you download or update the app. As of our last policy update, Apple summarizes Asteroid as 16+ in most countries and regions, and 15+ in Australia, Brazil, and the Republic of Korea. Questionnaire answers and badges can change over time; always refer to your local App Store listing for the current rating.
Depending on how you use Asteroid, we may collect:
We use the above information to:
When you use in-app reporting or blocking, we process the information needed to show your report to our team, associate it with the reported content or account, and take appropriate action. That may include storing the report text, identifiers for the reporter and reported party, timestamps, and technical context.
We may process content (including audio and text) to detect violations of our rules or applicable law, including sexually explicit material, hate or harassment, violence, spam, or child safety risks. Automated signals are not perfect; human review may follow. We may remove or restrict content, label it (for example as explicit), or suspend accounts consistent with our Terms of Service.
We may retain safety-related records for a period necessary to prevent repeat abuse, comply with law, or defend legal claims, even after an account is closed.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, we rely on appropriate bases such as: performance of a contract with you; legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service and enforcing our policies; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where we ask for it (for example for certain cookies or marketing, if offered).
We use infrastructure and service providers to host data and provide functionality—for example cloud databases, storage, authentication, and analytics (such as Google Firebase and Google Analytics as referenced in our Terms). These providers process information on our behalf under contractual safeguards. We do not sell your personal information as a commodity; we may share information with providers, professional advisers, or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain certain data longer where required for legal, tax, or safety reasons, including backups and abuse-prevention records. User-generated content may remain on our systems until removed by you or by us under our policies.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Asteroid is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it where appropriate.
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights or ask questions, email asteroidcontactbussiness@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
If you believe content on Asteroid infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us with enough detail to locate the material and assess your claim. We aim to respond to valid copyright-related inquiries within a reasonable time, often within about 24 hours when practicable.
